What matters in the end?
Happy Spring Equinox & Lunar Eclipse 🌚
Last time I wrote you was half a year ago exactly at the Autumn Equinox when I'd just arrived on the island. Time passes by so quickly! I had a beautiful and calm winter here focusing on making new music. More on that in a second..
“You, as a person, are like a face drawn in the sand. It is there, but the sand knows nothing about it. You can make a picture in the sand as great as a Picasso or a Michelangelo but the desert neither loses nor gains any grain, and the desert will not keep it. The desert will not keep your artwork. It is neither happy nor sad about any footprint. There are no maps for the desert. Neither the artist nor the artwork will be remembered by the desert. All are but fleeting expressions of one wholeness. You are that Wholeness.”
-Mooji
I'm taking this quote as a reminder to put things into perspective. We're so busy building our lives, putting out fires, worrying about things that come and go..
But what of it matters in the end?
The laughter you shared with a stranger, the time you took to listen to the birds in the morning, the dancing-like-no-one-is-watching where you forgot yourself for a little while. This is what matters. Remembering you're coming from that one wholeness which is in everyone and everything.
Do you also feel like time is speeding up?
I often feel like a day doesn't have enough hours anymore. Too many things to do, manage, research, accomplish. Which I take as a reminder to slow down. To take every morning and sit in silence. And I invite you to do the same:
Allow yourself for a moment to forget about your to-do list for the day. Imagine there was no past and no future. Not even this moment right now is of any importance. It's just you here. And even you.. the person you think you are in your mind.. let that go for a moment as well. What is left is just pure presence and peace. Bath in that as long as possible.

As always I wanna give you an update on what happened since my last newsletter:
1
I fully settled in Ibiza and have decided to stay here permanentely. Not only did I fall in love with the spirituality of this island but also with the people here. My best friends are here, nature is here, music & inspiration is here. I shared more about that journey on my Instagram.
2
I have recorded two new live looping videos in nature with Lord of the Rings music. One of them was "The bridge of Khazad Dum" - an incredibly emotional song that gives me goosebumps everytime. The well known lofi music artist "Chill Astronaut" heard it and approached me for a collaboration, which we released 2 weeks ago. It was an absolute pleasure working with him and we're super happy to share this song for you to relax and feel to:

After years of not selling my music on Amazon or iTunes I have now given in and it's available for download. By nature my personality is a bit idealistic and I've always tried to boycott Spotify and those 'mainstream' companies. They don't pay artists fairly and also the audio quality is super bad (also on a spiritual level - which is why I offer my music in lossless quality here). However after all these years I've come to a point where I really want and need to be able to live off my art - or give up. So as much as marketing is not something that comes naturally to me, I want the music to become more available to more people.

Which is why I have worked on getting my music on more Spotify playlists. I also created my own playlist which I would LOVE to share with you, because it's some of the most beautiful music I know. Please give it a like:
5
Lastly a little update on what's to come: I have recorded my first ever original song called "Luthien" which is so exciting! I'm currently working on making a music video and getting everything ready for the release. Which will also include something I've never done before: Going on TikTok! Yet another one of those platforms I've been boycotting for years. However I do see the beauty of it now, there are great opportunities for musicians and I've got a new found joy and creativity producing content for it.
I will keep you posted!

Sending you sunny greetings from la isla, hoping you are well! If you also feel stressed and like time is running through your fingers.. remember to listen to the birds and drop your thoughts for a quiet moment.
Much love & a big hug,
Emerelle
